SAS Leadership Fellow for Autonomous Practice

Specialist and Associate Specialist (SAS) Doctors have a strong reputation of working in senior leadership roles alongside consultants, bringing a substantial amount of knowledge, skills and expertise to their own speciality. SAS doctors have often missed out on opportunities to undertake any formal study in leadership, management and research to support their career development.

NHS Trusts are now wanting to recognise the contribution of SAS doctors and have developed a pathway for SAS Autonomous Practitioners following the guidance set out .

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is leading the way in supporting this national initiative and now is the time for SAS doctors to advance their post graduate training by applying for a SAS Leadership Fellow year.
